Soon to be made famous as the ground breaking ‘football boot with a brain’, the 2011 adizero f50 is bringing smart technology to the field of play. Football is faster than ever before and the need for speed has never been greater. miCoach turns the adizero f50 into the ultimate digital training tool by letting you track and upload performance data including speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels and time. The adizero f50 boot includes a cavity in the outsole unit which houses the revolutionary miCoach SPEED_CELL™, capturing 360° movement and measuring key performance metrics including speed, average speed (recorded every second), maximum speed (recorded every five seconds), number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels, steps and stride rates. The on-board memory stores all your measurements during your game or training for up to seven hours and then wirelessly transmits the on pitch performance data to your tablet, PC or MAC.

adidas adiPower Predator TRX FG – Preview

This year marks the 17th year aniversary of the adidas Predator series. The first Predator was unveiled in 1994 (see below)

first ever adidas Predator Needless to say the shoe was met to mixed consumer reaction. The look was a bit crazy but the concept started and since then the adidas Predator line has become one of the best selling styles every year. With superstar’s like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Kaka and Steven Gerard and others sharing their idea’s with adidas product developers over the years the new adidas adiPower Predator is the lightest version ever!

The new adidas adipower Predator 25% lighter than the previous Predator X. This is thanks to the inclusion of Adidas’ SprintFrame which we know from the AdiZero. The SprintFrame features a redesigned Predator PowerSpine from the Predator X, to allow additional energy transfer directly from the foot into the ball by preventing the foot from over bending while still allowing for comfortable running movements thanks to the flex grooves which keep the element highly flexible in the right direction.

 

Adidas have recently incorporated a wider boot last and redesigned foot-bed into their boots. A wider fore-foot, sleeker mid-foot and wider heel enables the studs to be positioned closer to the outside of the sole, providing greater stability whilst improving movement, traction and pressure distribution.

The new AdiPower Predator use Taurus calf leather which was first introduced in the Predator X. Taurus leather offers high-end supreme touch leather performance while still being durable and water and abrasion resistant.

 

The new re-engineered silicon rubber Predator Element is split into two zones. The first zone is an aggressive, structured surface which integrates the Adidas stripes is the ‘Power Zone’. The 3D fins give rebound upon ball impact, generating additional striking power from the boot. The second ‘Swerve Zone’ features a hexagonal pattern. The even and soft surface provides a longer contact time with the ball, resulting in higher friction and ultimately higher swerve.

Adidas AdiPure SL Super Light Review

So being super lucky to work here at Niky’s Sports I was able to get my hands on a pair of AdiPure SL’s about 2 weeks before the official launch. My previous cleats were the AdiPure III’s which were great. Super comfortable, leather is soft, they’ve lasted me longer that I expected and I was so happy with them I got two different colors in them.

When I got the AdiPure SL’s I noticed right away that it’s still had a lot of the elements I loved about the AdiPure III, great leather, comfortable insole and a really cool look. I picked them up and I immediately noticed the weight difference. These things are light! Mine were just a little over 7 ounces! I was amazed right off the bat.

So I threw them on and they fit perfectly. I’ve never used an AdiZero, Superfly or any other shoe this light so it was different. Even though they felt perfect I was a bit concerned of how they would hold up in caparison to my AdiPure III’s and if they would remain comfortable after a good amount of play. Them being so light weight I thought maybe some comfort and stability was compromised to shed the extra ounces.

Took them to the field the next day for a 1.5 hour training session and they were as amazing as they looked. Everything I loved about my AdiPure’s but lighter. There was no break in period for me, moment I stepped on the field to do drills they felt like I had them for weeks. The outsole work great, very good traction on both natural grass and turf. I’ve used them non stop since then. They’ve held up very nicely and I am very happy with them. this has to be one of the best shoes out right now. Since I got them 4 other guys on my team have got them too, every one is happy with them. I definitely recommend these to a player looking for all the comfort that kangaroo leather gives and the advantages of a light weight shoe.

 

Pro’s: Super soft Kangaroo leather, super comfortable sock liner and heel pads, great traction outsole and they even come with a cleaning kit that includes leather food to keep the leather looking and feeling soft.

 

Con’s: I’d say the only con would be it only comes in black. Don’t get me wrong, I love the classic black look but I would love to see these things in different colors.

A Great Start to Summer!!!

It has been a whirlwind of a summer so far!

We had the great opportunity to join Puma in a trip to Mexico City to unveil the 2010 Puma Pumas UNAM new home kit and watch Pumas UNAM open up the season against Toluca.  The atmosphere was great at Estadio Universitario and best of all Pumas got the victory with an amazing goal late in the second half.

Then on to Real Madrid coming to Southern California to do their preseason training. Adidas chose us to be the retailer to do a grassroots activation with adidas and Real Madrid which consisted of a 7 v 7 under 17 boys and girls tournament. The tournament turned out great with 24 boys team and 8 girls teams all competing for the chance to play on field against Real Madrid in a closed door training session in which all participating teams where invited. The Real Madrid players were great with the participating teams. The winning teams received a Jabulani Official Match Ball, a pair of F50 adizero cleats, tickets to the game and a free set of uniforms…I’d say that was a great prize!

Finally on to the Rose Bowl to watch Real Madrid take on the LA Galaxy in front of 90,000. It was great to see all these amazing players up close and personal, especially thanks to adidas who gave us some amazing seats!

So all in all it has a been a great start to the summer. Our thanks to Puma for the amazing trip to Mexico and adidas for giving us the opportunity to be part of such an amazing event with a renowned worldclass team as is Real Madrid. It is an honor to be able to have these opportunities!

Real Madrid is coming to Los Angeles and adidas is inviting you to an exclusive training session and a chance to play against the worlds greatest soccer team, REAL MADRID!

16 BOY and 16 GIRLS team will be accepted to play in the Real Madrid 7v7 Challenge, July 31st 2010. The winning boys and girls team will play with Real Madrid in a closed training session on August 5th 2010, and ALL participants and scrimmage against the winning teams.

Event Details:

Registration opens at 10:00AM on Friday, July 31st 2010. 10 roster spots per team. 16 Boys teams and 16 Girls teams. Players born on or after August 1, 1993.
